Course Content:

  • Introduction to general Health and Safety Specific confined space legislation
  • Interpretation of a safe system of work
  • Permit to work system and tool box talks
  • Use of a gas monitor
  • Use of P.P.E (personal protective equipment)
  • Inspection of escape breathing apparatus
  • Practical entry into a high risk confined space
  • Use of escape breathing apparatus
  • Entry/exit using SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus)

 

Delegate Requirements:

  • Delegates must provide authentic traceable photographic ID e.g., travel passport or UK driving licence. A photograph will be taken by the course instructor as an electronic copy for the ECITB.
  • Delegates must wear appropriate clothing to cover limbs and safety boots for the practical element. 
  • Delegates must be at least 18 years old and have appropriate fitness to be able to participate in a practical activity.
  • Delegates must be clean shaven to participate in breathing apparatus practical training. 
  • Delegates must have strong enough eye sight to read oxygen gauges through breathing apparatus without the use of spectacles. 
  • All courses are delivered in English and delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English. Delegates who cannot meet this requirement please contact the course instructor as you will not be able to continue the course.
