What is Health and Safety Awareness Training?

Heath and safety awareness training is designed to give employees the knowledge they need to spot potential hazards in the workplace. The training is designed for those new to the construction and engineering environment, who do not have the experience to recognise issues which may occur. It is also for those who have the experience, but no formal qualification to prove their skills.

The training is designed to teach delegates how to prevent workplace accidents, how to understand health and safety law, and how their role fits in with managing workplace safety.

Why is Health and Safety Awareness Important?

Managing health and safety is vital to the smooth running of any construction or engineering company. There are also many health and safety laws which must be followed. Failure to do so can result in fines and prosecution. Companies also have a duty to protect not just their employees. But also any member of the public who comes into contact with the business.

Health and safety awareness training is how you can keep your staff safe, while empowering them with the knowledge to constantly improve the standards of safety in your workplace.

Competence

This CITB Health and Safety Awareness course will ensure that the delegate will be able to understand the need to prevent accidents and has an understanding of health and safety law.  They will be able to identify how their role fits into the control and management of the site and understand their responsibilities concerning health and safety.
