This SMSTS Refresher course is for those who hold the Site Management Safety Training Scheme certificate (SMSTS) and wish to update their knowledge and skills in line with current legislation. Successful attendees will receive a new Site Management Safety Training Scheme certificate, which is valid for 5 years. The SMSTS Refresher course covers The Health and Safety at Work Act and the regulations relevant to the construction industry.
The SSSTS Refresher course is for those who already hold the SSSTS certificate and wish to update their knowledge and skills in line with current legislation. Successful attendees will receive a new SSSTS certificate, which is valid for 5 years. The course gives an overview of the legislative changes that may impact their workplace which have taken place since completing the 2-day SSSTS.
Anyone wishing to apply for a CSCS Labourers Green Card MUST hold a qualification (this course is accepted) as well as passing the CITB health, safety and environment test, before applying via CSCS's website.
The CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is designed for Project Managers, Site Managers, Site Supervisors and Proprietors of smaller companies. The SMSTS course is identified in Approved Codes of Practice as the ideal core training for all Site Managers. The 2-day CITB Site Supervisor’s Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course is for first line managers, who have, or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities. It aims to give them an understanding of the legal issues which affect their day to day role. This includes environmental, legal and welfare responsibilities. The course covers The Health & Safety at Work Act and all regulations relevant to the construction industry.
The CITB Director's Role for Health & Safety course is aimed at directors and senior managers; with the purpose of recognising the human, economical and financial implications of non-compliance with health & safety legislation. The course provides a summary of how to promote a positive health and safety culture within an organisation. Workshop exercises throughout the day will give delegates the opportunity to discuss their thoughts about health and safety and their responsibilities in an open forum.
