The Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health qualification over one-day provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help.  Learners will know how to recognise and manage stress and understand the impact of substance abuse.  They will learn about the first aid action plan for mental health, be able to put it in place and know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace.

Learners will not diagnose or treat mental health conditions as this can only be carried out by healthcare professionals but will gain the knowledge to identify when a person may have a condition and know where they can go to get help.

The purpose of the 2-day CCNSG course is to provide delegates with essential knowledge in relation to health and safety using an accredited programme, to ensure that site personnel operate using standardised and mandatory industry practices which in turn, will minimise risks to themselves and others.


The CCNSG Safety Passport Scheme aims to ensure a basic knowledge of health and safety for all site personnel to enable them, after appropriate site induction, to work safely on site, with lower risk to themselves and others.  The qualification is valid for three years from the date of training. The course is frequently a specified requirement for contractors wishing to work on engineering construction sites.

The CCNSG Test-Only renewal option is suitable for those who have continually maintained and demonstrated their knowledge in a practical setting since achieving the Safety Passport qualification.

The Asbestos Awareness section of the course is designed for individuals who may come into contact with asbestos in construction or demolition during their work. This course provides attendees with the knowledge and information required to take the necessary precautions when asbestos is found. It also enables them to identify possible locations where asbestos could be found.

The Manual Handling Assessors part of the course is designed for those who plan and define safe systems of work for others to follow.

Required Equipment: Abrasive wheel, appropriate tools and safety wear

The aim of this training course is to provide an understanding of current legislation relating to the use of abrasive wheels, and to promote awareness of the hazards involved in working with them.

The training focuses on enabling operators to spot the dangers which arise from the use of these tools. Addressing the main causes of accidents, injuries and illnesses which occur from using abrasive wheels. With the ultimate aim of reducing the number of injuries and accidents caused through the use of cutting tools.
